THE BUGALOOS

"The Bugaloos, The Bugaloos, We're in the air and everywhere..."

The Bugaloos is an American children's television series produced by brothers Sid and Marty Krofft, airing on NBC on Saturday mornings from 1970 to 1972. The show featured a musical group composed of four British-accented teenagers, who lived in fictional Tranquility Forest.

They wore insect-themed outfits with antennae and wings which allowed them to fly, and were constantly pursued by the evil Benita Bizarre, who was jealous of the Bugaloos' musical talent. The Bugaloos released an album in 1970 featuring studio-recorded versions of some of the songs performed on the show.

Minnie Riperton 70"

Minnie Riperton (November 8, 1947 – July 12, 1979) was an American singer-songwriter best known for her vocal range of five-and-a-half octaves and her 1975 single "Lovin' You" (featured most recently in the animated movie Megamind).

She was married to songwriter and music producer Richard Rudolph from 1972 until her death in the summer of 1979.  They had two children - music engineer Marc Rudolph and actress/comedienne Maya Rudolph.

70's MEN'S FASHION

 1970s men's fashion was characterized by several distinct fashion trends that have left an indelible image of the decade.  These include platform shoes which appeared on the fashion scene in 1971 and often had soles two to four inches thick.

These were worn by both men and women, who also often wore high platform sandals. Wide-legged, flared jeans and trousers were another fashion mainstay for both sexes throughout most of the decade.

We can see several of these mainstays in the picture above - Fuller hair with a longer cut over the ears, long-sleeve dress shirt with wide pointed collar, high-waist trousers with front crease and patch pockets.

Also the use of a wide leather belt with large square buckle, prints including stripes and plaid, bell-bottom trousers with flare and wide cuffs, and of course platform shoes.  These two guys have all that going on!

Fashion In The 1970s

The 1970's fashion continued the hippie look reminiscent of the past decade. Worn out jeans remained popular as well as the tie-dye. The fashion for unisex was on the upswing. Afro hairstyle and platform soles became in with the rise of the radical chic.

It is said that male appearance got changed more in this decade than any other time in the century. In the US, fashion was focused on simple and longer skirts. Jeans became more popular, becoming an accepted item in the fashion scene. Some of the designers who rose to popularity were Calvin Klein and another US designer, Ralph Lauren. Meanwhile, Pierre Cardin popularized a staple style of clothing featuring narrow shoulders with tight fitting lines, having no tie and interfacing, and coupled with jackets and tunics. Men also opted to dress down, regarded as hippie', and this gained recognition as more of a deliberate look.

One of the more innovative designers of the decade was Kenzo Takada, who mixed Western and Oriental influences to create a new fashion trend. Another name worthy to mention is Sonia Rykiel, who created figure hugging knits. An Italian designer who made waves in this decade was Giorgio Armani, who made a distinctively successful collection of clothes for women in 1975.

It was also during the '70s when fashion trends began to cross borders quickly. Western fashion trends were looked upon by the rest of the world. Synthetic materials were also introduced. The decade also got inspiration from fashion trends in the previous decades.

And it seems that she was more than a little worse for wear, as the source said: 'The producer told Lauren she wouldn’t speak to her while she was in that state.'
The source added: 'The cast and crew have had enough of the way Lauren is acting. They have got to the point where they feel that if she wants to quit she should. Nobody is bigger than the show.'

As a consequence of the row, Lauren will not film any more scenes until she has met with bosses to discuss her future.
So as her co-stars continued filming this week, Goodger headed to Tatiana Hair Salon in London to get some new extensions.
She tweeted: 'TatianaHairExts Love this honey colour! Thank you xx.'

Ricky told the Daily Star last week: 'I am not really friends with Lauren so I don’t mind telling the truth. She likes herself quite a lot. All she talks about is herself on the show.
'She still thinks she’s queen bee. She was at her peak in the early series and she’s clinging on.'
Jessica added: 'I've told producers I don’t want any scenes with her. I honestly never want to talk to her again.'
